From visionary director Cláudio Assis comes the story of an unrequited love between an alcoholic, anarchistic poet named Zizo, and Eneida, the sober, down-to-earth girl who becomes his muse. Meanwhile, Zizo wages an impotent battle against “the system” by publishing a counter-culture newsletter and putting on subversive street performances, which appeal mainly to his devoted circle of libertine fringe-dwellers. This colorful film masterfully shot in black-and-white in Recife, questions pre-established concepts of sex and freedom.
